Bishop Anthony Pinkney
Bishop Anthony Earl Pinkney is a native of York, PA. He was born to parents, Alphonso & Deborah Pinkney. Bishop Pinkney describes his upbringing as one filled with love, laughter, and the strong and consistent teachings of Jesus Christ for he and his siblings. Bishop Pinkney completed his childhood education within the York City School District. He was involved with a lot of community activities, including football and Drill Team-Soul Sonic Force. He eventually graduated from Central York School District in 1996; where he could be found dominating the basketball courts. After graduation, Bishop Pinkney enrolled in Penn State University and later enlisted in the United States Navy where he served in Operation Enduring Freedom immediately following the 911 terror attacks. After traveling two tours, Bishop Pinkney ended his career with the United States Navy to spend more time with his family and serve in the ministry.
In 2001, Bishop Pinkney married his high school sweetheart, Kisha Ann Marie Preston. To this union, Anthony Earl II and Byron Wayne Pinkney were born, in 2002 and 2006. While raising their two biological sons, the Pinkney’s fostered many young men over a span of 12 years. Two of those young men were adopted in 2010; Davon Pinkney and Isaiah Wright. Many of the young men who have passed through the Pinkney’s home continue to keep in touch and remember the scripture that was introduced to them as they entered into the residence: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!” Joshua 24:15.
In 2002, Pastor Pinkney was called into the ministry under the leadership of Bishop Sellman P. Easton at the Bethel Commandment Church of the Living God, York, PA. Bishop Pinkney was endowed with the gift of the Holy Ghost and began in ministry as a Trustee, where he served in that position until the Lord elevated him to the position of Minister in 2006. In 2012, Bishop Pinkney served on the Board of Elders at the Bethel Commandment Church, and then as Associate Pastor to Bishop Easton. In all the he went to do, you could see Bishop Pinkney’s passion for the Gospel. “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” 1 Timothy 1:12.
While journeying through his ministerial journey, Bishop Pinkney received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Phoenix University, and his Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University.
In every role he is operating in, you can find Bishop Pinkney using his platform to elevate the name of Jesus Christ; whether it be mentoring underprivileged youth at the Children’s Home of York, where he is the Program Director, or assisting in the mission to give young mothers a second chance and new beginning at Pinkney’s Vineyard of Faith Ministries – a specialized setting – where he operates in the role of Operations Manager. Pastor Pinkney continues to be a Christ-like example in the community where he gives countless volunteer hours.
You can often hear Bishop Pinkney make his request to the Lord that He “Deal with me bountifully!”
